Nuclear Reactors 434 - MP In Australia Suggests Nuclear Power Plant As Possible Solution To Alcoa Aluminum Smelter Problems

       Portland in the Australian state of Victoria is the oldest European settlement in the state. It was founded in the early Nineteenth Century but only designated as an Australian "city" in 1895. It currently has about ten thousand residents. The primary industrial activity in Portland is an Alcoa aluminum smelter. It processes about three hundred and fifty thousand tons of aluminum each year.

       Most of my posts on this blog about nuclear power reactors deal with fission reactors. Occasionally, I switch over to nuclear fusion reactors. Fusion power reactors don't exist yet but billions and billions of dollars over decades have been spent in the quest for fusion power. If fusion power can be achieved, it should have many important advantages over nuclear fission for power generation.
