Nuclear Weapons 350 - National Academies Raises Five Major Concerns About U.S. Nuclear Weapons Program

       The U.S. nuclear weapons program is handled by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE). The NNSA is responsible for the design and production of nuclear weapons for the U.S. nuclear arsenal. The Pentagon could be considered as the ultimate “customer” for the NNSA’s nuclear product.
