China on Monday called for Britain to proceed with a nuclear power plant project partly invested in by a Chinese firm, saying the project had firm support from London, after Britain’s new government said it would review it again. reuters.com

New York approved subsidies worth about $500 million a year for its money-losing nuclear reactors, the first state to throw such a lifeline to an industry struggling with weak demand and low prices. bloomberg.com

The decision of the new British government to postpone a deal on a nuclear power station, to be built by France with major Chinese investment, has shocked both of those countries and is a potentially major step away from the policies of former Prime Minister David Cameron. nytimes.com
