Uzbekistan has chosen a potential site for the construction of the nuclear power plant (NPP), Podrobno.uz reported. This place has turned out to be Tudakul Lake, located on the border of Navoi and Bukhara regions of Uzbekistan. Azernews.az

The Army Corps of Engineers has obtained a grant to clean up nuclear waste materials at the former NUMEC nuclear materials plant in Parks Township. According to a report from KDKA-TV, NUMEC, which made fuel for power plants and atomic submarines, buried its waste in 55-gallon drums around its 140-acre site. The plant was closed in 1983. EDF Energy has extended an outage at its Hunterston B-7 nuclear reactor in Britain until Dec. 18, it said on Monday. The reactor, which can produce enough electricity to power more than 800,000 homes, has been offline since March when cracks were found in its core during a routine inspection. Uk.reuters.com
